Bells Tavern, 183-185 N Union St, Lambertville, NJ 08530 was visited by inspectors from the New Jersey Division of ABC Investigative Bureau on March 20, 2013 as part of a larger investigation entitles “Operation Swill”. This Statewide investigation was inspecting establishments serving alcoholic beverages due to consumer complaints and tips.

Bells Tavern was found to be in violation of N.J.A.C 13:2-23.19, Substitute Beverage. This statue relates to a consumer ordering a branded beverage and being served a different brand, or a brand of liquor was replaced with another brand. Unlike the other establishments that were investigated as part of Operation Swill, Bells Tavern, 183-185 N Union St, Lambertville, NJ received a written stipulation agreement by the NJ Attorney General in relation to the charge of March 20, 2013. The stipulation put off any disciplinary action as long as no other violations were found in subsequent investigations.
