Sky Pub - Refilling Liquor Bottles

Sky Pub located in the Complexe Sky 1478 St Catherine St E, Montreal, QC H2L 2J1, Canada was cited by police in 2013 with six liquor violations, including Refilling Liquor Bottles, and Bugs in Liquor Bottles, described by police as “gross”. The Sky Pub is owned by bar magnate Peter Sergakis. These six charges were finally acted upon by the Régie on March 16, 2017 when a 21 day liquor license suspension was issued in a final order.

Sky Pub is one of many bars and nightclubs owned throughout Quebec by Mr. Sergakis, and one of the many that have been cited by the Liquor Authorities as being in violation of Liquor Laws. In fact Sky Pub itself was involved in another investigation which encompassed many of the clubs owned by Mr. Sergakis where they were charged with selling beer in smaller glasses than the amount advertised. That investigation resulted in one of the largest fines ever issued by the Régie, in the amount of $18,000.

As in the case of Sky Pub, Mr. Sergakis has been able to put off fines and liquor licence suspensions by using a cadre of attorneys to file appeal after appeal to push the end result down the road, as in this case pushing it four years down the road. Peter Sergakis challenges the Liquor Authority at every turn, even filling a law suit against a Councillor for $100000 for intimidation, saying criticism of his bar is defamatory..
